Dreams have been studied for thousands of years. Dreams are mystifying, they can be delightful or they can be terrifying, everyone has them and everyone experiences them differently. Some dreams are remembered vividly, while others slip away as soon as we awake. Some dreams control us, and some of us control our dreams. Sometimes we escape danger by flying away, or realize we are dreaming and take control of the dream and it's outcome. My visual dream diary is a journey through the subconscious, an opportunity to re-explore the dreams, not only to analyze them, but to also recreate that vaguely familiar feeling that we experience while dreaming. As I paint or draw a dream, I concentrate on how it felt to see and experience that dream. I try to.... "put my finger on it" ....and capture those universal, mysteriously familiar feelings of our dream worlds and make them part of our waking lives. As others view my dream images and relate them to their own subconscious experiences, it becomes clearer and clearer to me that we are all dreaming together.
